Polimi Graduate School of Business is a business school provided by the leading European technical university Politecnico di Milano, ranked Top 100 worldwide and Top 30 in Europe on both the QS and FT Ranking MBA rankings.
Challenges & Needs
Polimi Graduate School of Business was looking for professionals active in the entrepreneurship, innovation, and venturing space, with international hands-on operational (since many of the MBA participants were guest students from worldwide partner universities) and also educational and coaching experience (to be able to provide a pleasant and effective knowledge transfer).
Solutions & Impact
FFA has been contracted to teach specific modules of different MBA and EMBA programs on the topics of entrepreneurial and venture finance. The classes were composed of 40+ participants from all over the world, with average of 15 years of work experience holding senior manager or VP positions in leading top tier corporations and institutions from mainly Europe (e.g. Accenture, Commerzbank, Italcementi, McKinsey & Co, Pirelli, Techint, Unicredit, to name a few).

With a huge campus and over 40,000 technical students and plenty of industrial collaborations it is a central hub in Northern Italy. In connection with the technical world comes the business school with specialized master and MBA/EMBA programs, of which some highly focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, and with partnerships with top technical universities world wide.

Polimi Graduate School of Business was looking for professionals active in the entrepreneurship, innovation, and venturing space, with international hands-on operational (since many of the MBA participants were guest students from worldwide partner universities) and also educational and coaching experience (to be able to provide a pleasant and effective knowledge transfer).
Solutions & Impact
FFA has been contracted to teach specific modules of different MBA and EMBA programs with a duration between 2 and 5 days per lecture block on these specific topics:
a) Corporate Venturing and CVC: The role of corporations in the venture landscape, different types of CVC and the differences in valuations between CVC and VC
b) Entrepreneurial and Venture Finance: All things related VC business model, venture funding cycles, financial planning and investment cases, and alternative forms of funding (like equity crowdfunding)
Particular focus was put on providing real business cases based on real companies and transactions worldwide, which have been developed by our firm. The broad and international experience helps us provide different point of views and problem-solution approaches and opens the horizons of the participants.
OUR IMPACT
In these years we taught 1000+ students with average of 15 years of work experience holding senior manager or VP positions in leading top tier corporations and institutions from mainly Europe (e.g. Accenture, Commerzbank, Italcementi, McKinsey & Co, Pirelli, Techint, Unicredit, to name a few).
We had an average NPS score above 8.9 / 10, ranking us a top performing external contract lecturers. Some of the testimonials posted here in this page are proof of it and we really believe that teaching and educating the corporate leaders on these topics will overall increase the venture market.
